Das Spiel ScubaVenture: The Search For Pirate’s Treasure ist designt vom späteren 3D Realms Mitbegründer George Broussard.

Die Spiele Slordax: The Unknown Enemy, Rescue Rover und Rescue Rover 2 stammen von Tom Hall, John Carmack, John Romero und Adrian Carmack. Welche später bekanntlich id Software gründeten.

World of Padman – Die Entwicklung geht weiter

World of Padman ist endlich wieder in den News! Juhu!

Das Team rund um WoP hat sich getroffen und es gibt traumhafte Neuigkeiten für uns Alle. Ich wüsste nicht wie das noch zu Toppen wäre :)

  1. Aktuelle 64-bit Binaries für alle drei Betriebssysteme erscheinen, also Windows, Linux und MacOS, auf Basis der letzten Version von ioquake3.
    Zunächst wird es ein kleines aber hoffentlich kurzfristiges Release einer Version 1.6.1 für World of Padman geben. Dieses wird ein reines Wartungsrelease sein, es wird hier also keine neuen Inhalte geben, aber Bugfixes. Ziel ist es, WoP möglichst schnell wieder auf allen Betriebssystemen lauffähig zum machen. Da MacOS schon seit längerem keine 32bit-Programme mehr unterstützt, ist WoP dort nicht mehr lauffähig.
  2. Neuer Content angekündigt!
    Langfristig ist eine neue Version 1.7 geplant, in der es dann auch neu Inhalte und Features geben wird. Welche diese sind, wollen wir Euch jetzt natürlich noch nicht verraten. Wir werden jedoch zur rechten Zeit darüber berichten.

Entwickler Flying Wild Hog hat einen exklusiven Promotion Deal mit einer grossen Webseite geschlossen. Diese Seite startet nun mit Neuigkeiten. (-ign-)

Im Trailer ist ein Arena Fight zu sehen, mit Doom Reboot ähnlichen Melee Finishern.

Dead by Daylight – Bill aus Left 4 Dead bekommt hier eine Backstory

In Dead by Daylight ist Bill Overbeck aus Left 4 Dead zu sehen, als er sich an früher erinnert.

Der Charakter ist bereits seit 2017 spielbar in DBD im DLC #1. Jetzt ist ein kostenloses „Tome“ dazugekommen (which are short works of fiction and animated cinematics). Darin bekommt Bill eine Backstory im Vietnam Krieg.

A New Tome: FORSAKEN
This Tome explores William “Bill” Overbeck’s backstory and how he met the Left 4 Dead gang. Players will brave their way through new challenges to unlock an unprecedented glimpse into the weeks before he came to fight off the infected in Left 4 Dead.

Players can get their hands on a slew of Left 4 Dead’s themed charms featuring iconic elements from the movie for Survivors or Killers, all available for free. Players can also equip Bill with an exclusive outfit available in the Free Track and get the community outfit designed as part of the 2020 Community Contest inspired by creator Nohequin for Claudette. Other great exclusive outfits are available as part of the Premium Track for Kate Denson, The Plague, The Trapper and Zarina.

Joar, in Games wie Vermintide 2, Dead by Daylight, Payday 2 und Friday the 13th, war ich an Steam Free Weekends schon drin. Ich verstehe Entwickler, die den weiteren Support (Patches) eines Spiels durch Pay DLC’s finanzieren. Aber bei diesen Spielen sind es mir einfach zu viele Pay DLC’s die existieren. Das gefällt mir nicht.
