QUAKE: The Movie
QUAKE: The Movie wird nun nicht so weiter erstellt, wie man gedacht hat. Tritin Films stellt das gedachte Projekt erstmal ein. Das bis jetzt erstellte Filmmaterial wird nun einen 15-minutigen Film ergeben, der sich „Escape From The Bastille“ nennt.
We do realize this gives fan projects yet another bad name in the realm of „completion“, but at the 15 minute mark, the film is glorious, understandable, and is a stand-alone for it´s own story. We feel it will have the same impact as we had planned the original to have.

ZDF-Sendung Reporter
Neben Kindersklaven und Trockenübungen steht heute abend (Mittwoch – 21 Uhr), während der ZDF-Sendung Reporter, das Thema Counter-Strike auf dem Sendeplan. Zu Besuch ist einer der besten deutschen Quake3-Spieler: Kane vom Clan Schroet Kommando (SK). Es geht dabei um den Aspekt des Pro-Gaming und um die Turnier-Landschaft. Es wurde auch mal Zeit, dass ein Magazin nicht nur reisserisch und ablehnend über dieses Thema berichtet.
OSP 0.99u
Lange gab es von dem Quake 3 Mod OSP von Orange Smoothie Productions keine neue Version mehr. Wem dieses auch aufgefallen ist, der wird sich um so mehr über die neue Version freuen. Diese Version beseitigt einige Fehler und hat aber auch Neuerungen parat, da diese Liste sehr umfangreich ist, schaut in der History nach, um mehr zu erfahren.

700% Steuer auf gewaltätige Spiele
Wie es aussieht, ist das leider kein schlechter Scherz! In Göttingen gibt es mittlerweile 700% Steuer auf „gewalttätige Spiele“. Dies wurde mit dem Argument begründet, dass dies Gewaltausbrüche bei Kindern senken würde. Sogar das Bundesverfassungsgericht scheint diese Entscheidung zu unterstützen. Liebe Göttinger Schlafmützen, mal AUFGEWACHT!!! Was wird wohl passieren, wenn ein 3D-Shooter 470 DM kostet? Entweder wird er per Versand bestellt, um den Göttinger Steuergesetzen zu entgehen, oder er wird bewusst raubkopiert! Wo bleibt die Steuer auf gewalttätige Filme, auf vergewaltigungsverherrlichenden Sex-Filmen, und nicht zu vergessen auf die Politiker von Göttingen, damit es von diesem Schaden weniger gibt? ASUS äußert sich zu Cheat-Treibern
Auf Stomped ist heute nachzulesen, dass ASUS auf einen Leserbrief eines über die Cheat-Treiber verärgerten Gamer reagiert hat. Sie werden nun in zukünftigen Treiber-Versionen nicht mehr erhältlich sein, aber ASUS hat damit schon genügend Schaden angerichtet, und sollte daher von jedem ernsten Gamer boykotiert werden. (Das ist natürlich kein Aufruf dazu, dies zu tun.)
To respect the preferences of the majority of our customers and users around the world, ASUS will disable see-through capability in all future graphics drivers. Although ASUS did not officially release the see-through feature in the current 11.01, 12.00 and 12.10 drivers, this feature-enhancing codes were enabled by non-ASUS programmers and posted on various unauthorized websites. ASUS recognizes that these features may offer unfair competitive advantages for some users and will take actions to curtail the use of these drivers. All codes related to these features will be removed in all future versions (Version 12.40 and up) to prevent any further tampering that may enable see-through. ASUS will also provide a way for web hosts to detect and disable see-through functionality….
Team Arena Map Pack2
Paul Jaquays hat seine plan Datei aktualisiert, und gibt bekannt, dass es nun den Map Pack 2 für Team-Arena (13.76 MB) kostenlos zum Download gibt.
- Three months to the day after releasing Team Arena Map Pack 1, we´re proud to announce the release of a second map pack for the Quake III Arena game expansion, Quake III: Team Arena. As before, this id-approved map pack contains the work of four mappers from the on-line gaming community. This time, three are conversions of previously released Quake III Arena Capture the Flag maps (Dynatron by Ned Man, Courtyard Conundrum by Casey of Threewave, and Smear Campaign by riscchip). The fourth map (PYRmageddon) is an original map, created for Quake III: Team Arena. These maps have be modified and updated to work with the four Team Arena game types: Capture the Flag, One Flag CTF, Overload, and Harvester.
