Marathon Classic ist ein Remake von Fans, Bungie unterstützt das und es wird kostenlos sein. Der Re-Release soll neben dem Original optional mitbringen: Widescreen HUD support, 3D filtering/perspective, positional audio, 60+ fps interpolation „just in case the original is too authentic.“ ‚Coming Soon‘ was immer das heisst. Parallel ist noch ein Marathon Reboot in Entwicklung aber das scheint was komplett anderes zu werden und hat nicht mehr viel mit dem ursprünglichen Marathon zu tun.
