R-Type 2 erscheint für alle Systeme dieses Jahr. Ich meine physische Special Editions irgendwo vorbestellbar gesehen zu haben.

Mark erklärt MiSTer FPGA, einen Kleinrechner der Retro-Konsolen emuliert und Open Source Software benutzt. Das Ding ist gerade im Trend und könnte den Raspi als Retro Gaming Device ersetzen. Für die Masse wird es nie werden, da man in der Software und dem Einrichten Fummeln muss – wahrscheinlich ähnlich wie in MAME und Software Emulatoren. Ich habe bisschen was dazu gelesen und schätze da tut sich noch was demnächst in Hinblick auf neue Features.

Vormals exklusive Konsolenspiele jetzt auf PC!

Gerade veröffentlicht. Vor vier Jahren exklusiv für die Xbox One erschienen und nun auf den PC portiert. Zwei DLC’s sind mit dabei, doch der Multiplayer entfällt hier. Über steam oder ms store zu beziehen. (rockpapershotgun)

Weiter geht es mit der Veröffentlichung von Killer 7 (Gamecube, PS2). Nach 13 Jahren nun auf dem PC erschienen! (pcgames, eurogamer)

Erscheinen wird es diesen Monat.

Dimemsions fasst R-Type 1 & 2 remastert zusammen (PS3, 360), mit wahlweiser alter oder neuer remasterter Grafik. Während dem spielen lässt sich die Grafik umschalten. Ich habe Dimensions auf der 360 und freue mich jetzt auf die höhere PC Auflösung die mehr Schärfe bringt. (bluesnews)

Tozai Games announced today that R-Type Dimensions will be launching worldwide on Nintendo Switch and Steam in late 2018. R-Type Dimensions includes both acclaimed arcade classics initially published by Irem, R-Type and R-Type II. Each title can be played in classic mode with the original 2D graphics and retro music or with hi-res 3D graphics and remastered audio.

New features will be introduced in this edition:
Full power-up mode, allowing players to power their ships to maximum weapon in Infinite Mode, and Fast forward, the ability to speed up the game in any mode. Then theres also support for custom controller configuration. The Switch version will also feature in-game achievements.

Additional features of R-Type Dimensions include:

  • Two complete games: includes all 8 original R-Type levels and all 6 original R-Type II levels
  • Switch between hi-res 2D/3D graphics with revamped music, or play the classic versions with the push of a button
  • Infinite Mode and Level Select: learn the levels inside and out for the perfect, 1CC runs
  • Co-op Mode: 2 players can play together „couch co-op“ style or add collision for competitive play
  • Slow motion play function: weave through bullets and enemies with ease
  • Custom controller configuration: change the button layout to match your play style

R-Type Dimensions für 360 fällt von 15 auf 10 Euro im Downloadshop. Ob es im kurzfristig im Angebot ist oder dauerhaft reduziert, i dont know.

Mit Abwärtskompatibilität funktioniert es auch für die One. Dieses Grafik Umschalten während dem Spielen zwischen Neu-Alt fand ich in der Demo schön. Wird auch auf hardcoregaming 101 besprochen.
